Job description:
Summary: As an Ala Moana Store Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and effective inventory management. You will lead a team, utilizing your core skills in retail sales and team management to drive performance and achieve sales targets. Your premium skills in interviewing and training will be essential for developing staff and fostering a positive work environment. With a focus on organizational skills and effective purchasing strategies, you will play a vital role in the success of the store while reporting directly to upper management. Scheduling & Coordination: Create and manage team meetings, if needed. Ensure the timely distribution of monthly and weekly schedules within an efficient time frame. Demonstrate the ability to accommodate team members' individual schedules while ensuring business operations run smoothly.
Emergency Coverage & Staffing: Demonstrates flexibility in schedule by being available to cover shifts on short notice in the event of an emergency or staffing need.
Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely submission, in compliance with company standards.
Inventory & Supply Management: Regularly restock cleaning and office supplies, ensuring the store is fully equipped to operate efficiently. Compile and send bi-weekly restock lists to the buyer to maintain optimal inventory levels for store needs.
Team Leadership & Communication: Lead, manage, and motivate a team, ensuring alignment across all responsibilities and maintaining a positive, productive work environment. Foster open, respectful communication within the team and ensure adherence to store policies and procedures. As well as making sure the team is on the same page.
Sales & Promotions Awareness: Stay up-to-date with ongoing sales and promotions, store pop ups ensuring the team is informed and prepared to communicate offers effectively to customers. Additionally, being capable of leading the team to make store goals and creatively thinking of ways to meet that standard.
Cash Handling & Register Management: Ensure that cash registers are equipped with accurate and up-to-date change, maintaining consistency and accuracy in cash flow management.
Jewelry Production Oversight: Supervise the jewelry-making process, maintaining strict attention to detail and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless production.
Customer Interaction: Effectively communicate with customers regarding store policies, refunds, exchanges, and general inquiries, ensuring a positive and professional customer experience.
Employee Training & Development: Ability to lead the recruitment process by interviewing and training new employees, ensuring their smooth integration into the team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation to store culture and expectations.
Communication with Ownership: Maintain ongoing communication with the store owner, providing regular updates on operations, team performance, and any challenges or opportunities for improvement.
Location Flexibility: Be adaptable and available to commute to the Ala Moana location as required for managerial duties.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory management and retail sales
- Strong team management and supervisory skills
- Proficiency in using POS systems and cash registers
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Experience in interviewing, training, and employee development
- Familiarity with purchasing and bookkeeping practices
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
